First Kimpton Hotel in Germany to be built at FOUR Frankfurt
• The international luxury hotel brand enters the German market
• Boutique hotel with roof terrace and fine dining
• Long-term lease agreement concluded
Kimpton is coming to Frankfurt! The luxury boutique hotel brand of the global hotel group IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is opening its first hotel in Germany at FOUR Frankfurt. Following intensive market observation, the subsidiary of the world’s largest hotel chain has opted for the new high-rise complex in Frankfurt’s city centre and concluded a long-term lease agreement. Kimpton will occupy the entire wing at Junghofstrasse 7-11, where the new building will be constructed behind the listed façade. The hotel will have 155 rooms in different categories on an area of 9,500 sqm across six floors. The classic 1950s foyer at Junghofstrasse will be the main entrance to the hotel.
Guests can look forward to a new and extraordinary hotel experience: Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, who already operate 66 boutique hotels in the US, the Caribbean and Europe, promise nothing less than “the ultimate boutique hotel experience” and “a different way to stay”. The luxury brand is known for its high design standards and its emphasis on the individuality of each hotel.
Wining and dining above Frankfurt’s rooftops
Another focus of Kimpton is on fine dining. In addition to a bar and restaurant on the ground floor, there will be a sky bar on the roof terrace at Junghofstrasse. Guests can go out and party and enjoy the unique atmosphere in the middle of the skyline.
Kenneth Macpherson, CEO at IHG for Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa (EMEAA), welcomes the decision: “As one of the largest financial centres in Europe, Frankfurt is a key destination for us and this lease agreement is a milestone for Kimpton’s expansion in Europe. We are proud to bring the brand to Germany together with Groß & Partner. Guests at Kimpton Frankfurt can look forward to Kimpton’s famous luxury design and first-class service, which offers everything you need to feel at home.”
Groß & Partner is particularly pleased that FOUR Frankfurt will serve as the spearhead of the Kimpton Group’s German market entry. Nikolaus Bieber, Managing Director of Groß & Partner: “Frankfurt can look forward to a new international hotel brand that’s in a class of its own! With the Kimpton, the FOUR Frankfurt quarter will have another attraction that enriches and enhances the city centre. The Kimpton at Junghofstrasse will be a special experience both for hotel guests spending the night in the middle of the skyline and for non-residents visiting the restaurant and bar!”
The conclusion of the lease agreement was handled by the hotel team at the law firm Hogan Lovells, and the broker was Jones Lang Lasalle. The Kimpton Hotel is scheduled to open in 2023.
